Ford launches twin-turbo Explorer Sport SUV

Ford has launched the performance version of its Explorer SUV. Here’s the news from Ford: The new Ford Explorer Sport arrives in the Philippines, packing an impressive 3.5L EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 engine that delivers power and performance, fuel efficiency, and an array of smart technologies that deliver convenience and safety; adding yet another compelling option to its class-defining sport utility vehicle (SUV) line-up.

Making changes to the chassis and suspension for added power, the new Explorer Sport delivers an SUV with great dynamics and performance. With its sport-tuned springs and suspension, power adjustable pedals and speed controls, the Explorer delivers sporty handling without compromising ride safety and comfort.

The Explorer Sport also has Terrain Management System settings for optimizing increased power and torque equipped for various road conditions. It also comes with Trailer Tow Package Class III, which allows maximum loaded trailer weight up to 2,273 kilograms when properly equipped.

The new Explorer Sport builds on the Explorer’s aggressive, sculpted form with subtle cues to differentiate it from other models in the lineup.

With attention-grabbing features including 20-inch machined aluminium wheels and the Explorer badge with Ford’s signature 3-bar grille treatment, this adds to the Explorer’s bold identity statement and confident stance.

Inside, the high-end feel continues. Charcoal Black leather trimmed seating is available with contrasting Sienna inserts.

The new 3.5L EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 delivers best-in-class power for responsive performance. Combining direct injection of gasoline and turbocharging, the advanced EcoBoost engine delivers up to 365 PS of power at 5,500rpm and 475Nm of torque at 3,000rpm, allowing it to balance power and capability with environment responsibility.

With the Ford Explorer’s 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters and power adjustable pedals, drivers can easily and quickly change gears, providing them with flexible and efficient power across a wide range of engine and vehicle speeds, while saving fuel.

The new 3.5L Ford Explorer Sport with EcoBoost will go on sale in dealerships nationwide in November at PhP 2,799,000 and comes in three dynamic colors – Tuxedo Black, White Platinum and Magnetic Metallic.
