Honda PH to bring in more Civic Type Rs this year

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI), Honda’s automobile business unit in the Philippines, just announced the availability once again of its high performance Civic variant, the Type R this year as a response to the overwhelming and persistent demand for Honda’s high performance compact sedan. The first batch of Type R’s were immediately sold out soon after it was unveiled at the 2017 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) earlier last year.

The Type R caused a stir during its unveil at the MIAS and it was one of the most anticipated new model reveals last year, with some 128,000 visitors seeing the venerable Type R for the first time at the World Trade Center.

Powered by a 2.0L VTEC Turbo engine with a maximum output of 310 PS and peak torque of 400 Nm mated with a 6-speed manual transmission, the Civic Type R aims to deliver an exhilarating and gratifying drive both on or off the race track.

The Type R immediately received multiple accolades from local award giving bodies including C! Magazine’s Best Driver’s Car 2017, Car Awards Group Inc.’s 2017 Best Sport Compact Car and Top Gear Philippines’ Car of the Year 2017.

With the successful launch of the Civic Type R last year, Honda confirmed that another one hundred (100) units is set to arrive in the Philippines sometime this October. Aside from the signature Championship White and Rallye Red colors in its lineup, Honda will also introduce a new Polished Metal Metallic color for 2018.
