The Makati City government is rerouting the traffic on Friday to make way for the victory parade for Miss World Megan Young.

The parade will start at 2 p.m. from the Petron station at Gil Puyat Avenue corner Makati Avenue and pass through Ayala Avenue toward Edsa, culminating at SM Mall of Asia.

To make way for the parade, the traffic will be rerouted. All vehicles from South Superhighway must take Gil Puyat Avenue then turn right to Makati Avenue toward the Makati Central Business District.Since Tuesday, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has been building a crown-shaped float for Young’s parade.

“This appreciation parade befits the honor and accolade she has given our country,” said MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino.

The parade will also feature brass bands, chariots and vintage cars.

“We encourage the people to join us in giving Megan Young a warm welcome,” Tolentino said.—Niña P. Calleja
