Volkswagen Philippines, aka Automobile Central Enterprise, Inc. (ACEI), previewed the long-awaited Golf GTI at the Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS). Alas, pricing and availability will be announced in 2015.
The highlight of the Volkswagen press conference was Mr. Simon Loasby’s presentation. Holder of a Masters Degree in Design from the Royal College of Art in London, Loasby started his career in 1991 and in 2001, he moved to the Volkswagen Group’s headquarters in Wolfsburg. In 2008, he was asked to take up a new position of Director of Design for Volkswagen China – a role that gives him responsibility for all design activities.
Simon will fly in for the Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) to explain the design concept and philosophies of Volkswagen, focusing on the evolution of the Golf GTI. His session will culminate in the preview of the Golf GTI – from drawing to actual car, which will be on display throughout PIMS.
