British Motor Heritage to restore ‘Wheeler Dealer’ Mini

AS CURRENT owner of the original BMC tooling, British Motor Heritage (BMH) is able to supply the original specification replacement bodyshells and panels that have already helped save thousands of classic Minis from that automotive scrapyard in the sky. Now, the company is setting out to restore a 1964 Mini owned by Mike Brewer, an auto dealership owner and presenter of the popular Wheeler Dealers TV show. The car, BMH said, “is in need of a complete new shell to make it pristine once more.”

To kick the project off, both the Mini and its replacement body will be presented live on the stage of The Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show set on November 8-10. The restoration will then take place over the ensuing 12 months and in time for the finished article to be revealed at the 2020 show, following which “300 NOH” will become the star of Brewer’s car collection.

The car’s resurrection will be supported by Andy Harrison of Acespeed, the West Yorkshire-based restorer renowned for the quality of his classic car rebuilds.
