Watch brand Hublot and Ferrari have teamed up for the Art of Fusion Exhibition at Greenbelt 5 Fashion Walk from November 12 to 15. This Exhibition brings together Hublot timepieces created in collaboration with top personalities, artists and brands from diverse universes, such as legendary car manufacturer Ferrari, tattoo artist Maxime Plescia-Buchi and contemporary artist Richard Orlinski. No less than the legendary Jean-Claude Biver, Chairman of Hublot, opened the exhibit. Here’s the news from Hublot:

 

From its highly original and visionary exploit combining gold with rubber, Hublot came on the front of the global scene by pioneering the combination of natural materials which were not previously found together. This creative concept, known as the “Art of Fusion”, sparked a genuine revolution in the watch industry. This distinctive symbol of its personality, the “Art of Fusion” now guides all its actions, innovations, developments and partnerships. Embodying this subtle connection between a past ingrained with secular traditions, and a future nourished by visionary ideas, always avant-garde, always researching new resources, it blends styles and materials with ease.

Hublot has chosen to bring the Art of Fusion to Manila, it also celebrates ten years of partnership with the Lucerne Group, the country’s premier purveyor of Swiss luxury watch brands. Both Hublot and Lucerne express their excitement to showcase ground-breaking timepieces for its cult followers in the Philippines

 

Transformed into a 2,700 square foot HUBLOT gallery of its watchmaking world, the Art of Fusion Exhibition space features three zones and themes, the Ferrari collaboration, the Hublot Loves Art universe and the hexagonally shaped zone for cutting edge technology and materials used on Hublot timepieces. Upon entering, a red Portofino Ferrari greets visitors, followed by an array of Ferrari-Hublot watches, starting with the Big Bang Ferrari Magic Gold, which highlights the watchmaker’s unique material: Magic Gold, a combination of gold and boron carbide or ceramic, making the 18K gold alloy entirely scratch-resistant. Also exhibited is the Hublot Classic Fusion Ferrari GT introduced in 2019, which is inspired by the Grand Turismo spirit of “driving over long distances at high speeds in comfort and style. This timepiece is a departure from Hublot’s more angular aesthetic, giving the timepiece the illusion of concentric circles that resembles the dials on the Ferrari 1959 California and air vents of the Ferrari GTC4 Lusson. It is available in titanium, King Gold and 3D carbon.

Another interesting inclusion in the Exhibition, specially to Art aficionados, is the Hublot Loves Art zone, with the Maison’s latest models–created alongside tattoo artist Maxime Plescia-Büchi and contemporary sculptor Richard Orlinski. Discussing the importance of art, Jean-Claude Biver, Chairman of Hublot says, “Unlike technology, art never becomes obsolete.: Pieces to be watched out for are the Orlinski and Sang Bleu collection.”

Towards the tail end of the Exhibition, enthusiasts will be able to view the best of both worlds – cutting edge technology and traditional watchmaking. Materials that have never been used in the watchmaking industry. The pioneering watchmaker has dared to use what others would not even experiment on. The brand has invented Magic Gold – the only scratch resistant 18K gold that can only be cut by diamond. It even came up with its own kind of gold: King Gold, Hublot’s version of red gold, but even redder. Hublot is also one of the first to manufacture sapphire as the material for a watch case and in several colours including yellow, blue, pink and red, combining various metal alloys like aluminium oxide with copper or titanium oxide and sapphire. Visitors are invited to unravel the intricate world of the brand, peeking into its manufacture—to learn about its rich history, its DNA while imparting Hublot’s current ideals and its future’s foresight

 

The Art of Fusion has been the creative aphorism that has inspired the formation and continuing evolution of Hublot since its birth in Switzerland in 1980. The brand’s philosophy of “Be First, Different and Unique” powers its impressive growth over the last few decades and its consistent lead in design and technology.

 

The Art of Fusion Exhibition is open to the public from November 12 to 15 from 11am till 7pm, located at the Fashion Walk of Greenbelt 5, Makati.
