Maxus PH donates ambulance to Ospital ng Tondo
Timely attention is vital to emergency treatment and an ambulance plays a key role in this process. Believing that only safe, reliable and efficient ambulance could guarantee that the patient receive care in time, Felipe P. Estrella, president of Automobile Central Enterprises, Inc. (ACEI), led the turn over of a Maxus V80 Flex ambulance to the Ospital ng Tondo in Manila last Dec. 9.
The ACEI is the exclusive importer and distributor of Volkswagen and Maxus vehicles in the Philippines.
“The donation of the Maxus V80 Flex ambulance represents Maxus Philippines’ concrete support for the local government of Manila’s efforts to fulfill the mayor’s promise of ‘real change’ in his vision of ‘Ang Bagong Maynila (A New Manila)’. This vision includes improving healthcare services for the citizens of the country’s capital city,” added Reginald See, GM of Maxus Philippines.
Receiving the ambulance were Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso and Ospital ng Tondo OIC Hospital Director Dr. Myrna Lacson-Paloma during a formal turnover and signing of the deed of donation held after the flag raising ceremony at the Bonifacio and Katipunan Shrine across the Manila City Hall.
According to See, the donated Maxus V80 Flex ambulance is in line with the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts; which focuses on providing convenient and efficient vehicles to institutions and individuals.
Customized van
The ambulance is a 3-seater Maxus V80 Flex van customized by Winterpine Marketing Corp. It features LED toplight with siren and public address (PA) system, equipped with official decals and vinyl sticker ambulance markings, and fitted with stainless bumper and stainless ramp approach.
Inside, a two-layer medical floor-mounted cabinet, as well as a fully collapsible stretcher with locking mechanism have been supplied.
The V80 Flex’s spacious, flexible interior enabled the following to be installed: a 20-pound oxygen tank; a wall-mounted blood pressure (BP) apparatus; a first-aid kit; an oxygen tank regulator; a combination adult and pedia ambubag; minor surgical kit; LED flashlight with batteries supplied, and stethoscope.
The Maxus V80 Flex ambulance has also been installed with a fire extinguisher, fluorescent lamp, IV hook with strap, single oxygen tank holder, marine plywood and non-slip matting, and a jumpseat.
See added that the periodic maintenance service (PMS) interval schedule for the V80 Flex ambulance, like in all other Maxus vehicles, are the first 5,000 km and every succeeding 10,000 km, or once a year, whichever comes first.
For this emergency medical services transport that is on-call 24/7, See added that this would be more convenient, cost-efficient, and more critically advantageous compared to the industry-standard 5,000-km PMS interval.
