The Frankfurt Motor Show is an event to discover the latest from the world’s automotive manufacturers. Most notable among them are a number of zero-emission concept cars, whether all-electric or hybrid.
Here are four examples in full motion:
Audi AI:TRAIL quattro
Audi took to the Frankfurt show to unveil a new concept car in the guise of an all-electric, all-terrain and almost self-driving vehicle. The futuristic concept has four electric engines, each of which is connected to one of its humongous wheels.

BMW i Hydrogen NEXT
This electric hydrogen fuel cell sport utility vehicle prototype is based on the X5. The idea is for BMW to demonstrate that such a technology can already be adapted to a functioning vehicle, ahead of an eventual integration in a hydrogen-specific model before 2025.
Cupra Tavascan
Spanish manufacturer Cupra showed its first all-electric vehicle, the Tavascan, which is equipped with one electric engine on each axle and has a range of 450 kilometers, hinting at a future series model.
Mercedes EQS
The Mercedes-Benz Vision EQS is the fruit of a design study for an all-electric sedan, acting as a sneak peek for a series model that should arrive sometime in 2021. The show car is equipped with two electric engines totaling 350 kilowatts, which produce 476 horsepower.
